Corpse-world

From Cendaran Codex

A world which was once living, with its own deity, but no longer is. In short: the corpse of a god. Most planets in the galaxy never supported any life, but only those who once did are considered a corpse-world.

Corpse-worlds are completely incompatible with ordinary life. Without a patron deity, no new native life can be born. Outsiders may attempt to settle there, but will find the soil almost entirely incapable of supporting plant life. The Cendarii were successful in settling on one, however they had the benefit of needing only mana to survive.

Most corpse-worlds contain scattered relics of their now-lost life and civilizations, providing clues as to what led to their downfall.
